McKinney families tend to plan. The women who come to me from McKinney have usually been thinking about these photographs since the first trimester, have a Pinterest board, and know roughly what they want. They just don't want to end up with the same beige session everybody else has.
I'm Jenifer. I photograph maternity, newborn and motherhood portraits from a private studio in Mesquite. My background is in architecture, which is probably why my work leans more editorial than soft focus.
Getting here from McKinney
Straight down US-75 and west on I-635. It's one highway and a turn, which is the main reason McKinney clients tend to book both a maternity and a newborn session rather than just one. The drive isn't the obstacle people expect it to be.
I build extra time into McKinney bookings so the session never feels rushed at the start, and everything is shot indoors, so nothing gets rescheduled for weather.
If you're delivering in McKinney
Newborns photograph best between six and fourteen days old. It's a narrow window and it cannot be moved, so I ask McKinney families to reserve it during pregnancy. The second or early third trimester is ideal.
Most McKinney babies I photograph arrive at Medical City McKinney or Baylor Scott & White McKinney. Send me your due date and I'll hold a provisional window rather than a hard date, then we confirm once your baby is here.

A curated collection of couture maternity gowns kept at the studio, in a range of sizes. Optional professional hair and makeup. Guided posing throughout, because I direct every frame, so being awkward in front of a camera is not a problem. Wraps, outfits and props for newborns are all provided.
Your partner, older children and extended family are welcome.
McKinney questions I get asked
Is it worth the drive from McKinney? That's your call, but it's a single highway. The studio gives me control over light, temperature and wardrobe that I can't get in a park or at your house, and that matters especially with a newborn who needs the room kept warm.
When should the maternity session be? Usually 26 to 34 weeks, when the bump photographs well and you're still comfortable moving.
What if my baby comes early? That's exactly why I hold a window rather than a date. You text me when the baby arrives and we place the session inside it.
