Fort Worth is the longest drive of anywhere I regularly photograph, so I'll be straight with you. People don't make it for a standard session. The Fort Worth families who book me are usually after something specific, the editorial, gallery-wall kind of maternity portrait rather than a quick set of digitals.
I'm Jenifer. Six years of maternity and newborn work, a background in architecture, and a private studio on the east side of the Metroplex.
Getting here from Fort Worth
I-30 east most of the way, then north to I-635. It is a real drive across the Metroplex, and I schedule Fort Worth sessions accordingly. Generally mid-morning, so you're not crossing Dallas at rush hour in either direction, with plenty of time built in at the start.
If you're coming this far, it's worth combining. Several Fort Worth families have done maternity and a family session on the same visit rather than making the trip twice.
If you're delivering in Fort Worth
Newborn sessions want a baby between six and fourteen days old. Given the distance, planning matters more for Fort Worth families than for anyone else, so I ask you to book during pregnancy and have the window already held when your baby arrives.
Most Fort Worth babies are born at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth, Andrews Women's Hospital at Baylor Scott & White All Saints, or Texas Health Alliance in north Fort Worth. Tell me which, and roughly when you're due.
What's included
Full access to the studio's couture maternity gown collection, so you arrive with nothing but yourself. Optional professional hair and makeup, which is worth considering when you've driven an hour. Guided posing for every frame. All newborn wraps, outfits and props provided.
Partners, older children and grandparents are welcome.
Fort Worth questions I get asked
Do you travel to Fort Worth? The maternity and newborn work is studio based. The lighting, the gown collection and the controlled temperature for newborns are the whole point, and none of it travels. For family sessions, ask me.
Is the drive worth it? Look at the portfolio first and decide. If the work looks like what you want, the drive is an hour. If it doesn't, no drive is worth it.
Can we do everything in one visit? Often yes. Tell me what you're hoping for and I'll tell you honestly whether it fits in one session or needs two.
